17th year of UN Second Decade for World Indigenous Peoples (2005-2014)

In San Francisco, California AIM-WEST celebrated today, Tuesday, August 9, the 17th year of UN Second Decade for World Indigenous Peoples (2005-2014), UN also proclaimed "International Day for the Worlds Indigenous Peoples". Ms. Fuifuilupe, of Tonga, representing solidarity on behalf of Pacific Islanders, opened the special occasion with prayer and song cast to the winds.
The panelist's included, L to R, Dr. Paul LaRudee, solidarity speaker for Palestine Freedom Movement, Perry Matlock, shell-mound specialists, Michael Corral and Luta Candelaria AIM-WEST youth speaking about victory at Segorea Te, and David Escobar, for El Salvador Three Nations, on challenges posed by UN Declaration on Rights of Worlds Indigenous Peoples.
Distinguished filmmaker, Saul Landau, was on hand to introduce his award film "The Sixth Sun; Mayan uprising in Chiapas" (1996).
